Leilani No I think the ending was a happy one for Aubrey. She is finally running her marathon she has been training for and she is in love with Chase who loves her back. I think by her saying she just missed the storm was signifying that for once in her life she didn't get the shaft and she finally is at peace with forgetting about Josh for good, although it broke my heart they didn't end up.
